Just weeks after announcing his intention to transition from Tom Gabel to Laura Jean Grace in Rolling Stone, Against Me!’s frontman has unveiled the title track (and incredibly autobiographical) single for the band’s next album.
While no studio audio has surfaced, talk of Against Me! performing a new song on the road have been swirling since the band returned to the road post Gabel’s announcement. Today is the first day high quality video came by the UTG inbox, so today is the day we’ve chosen to post about it. The song is simple, with Gabel performing solo and acoustic (at least for this version), and addresses everything in a very straightforward manner. Anyone fearing a change in the sound of AM! can breathe a sigh of release, because this sounds more punk than their entire last record. Click past the jump and enjoy “Transgender Dysphoria Blues.”
