Legendary punk outfit Green Day released the first of their new album artwork for their three part release ¡Uno! ¡Dos! or ¡Tre!. The three albums are coming out over the course of the fall and early winter, so we can expect a lot of new material from the band in the coming months. The artwork released is for the first part ¡Uno!, and features Billie Joe’s face on the front.

So the album artwork. This is the personal opinion of Tyler now, not the entire UTG staff. As a long time fan of Green Day (they’ve been one of my favorite bands for such a long time), I think this new album artwork is kind of bad. It’s amateurish, a little too hokey, and while I understand they’re trying to have some fun, I think this artwork is better suited for some up and coming pop-punk band that doesn’t actually know what they are doing. I don’t know. That’s just me.

The album teaser however proves to be better than the artwork, with an instrumental version of one of their new songs. Very Foxboro Hottubs (their side-project) sounding, which I can definitely get into.

Alright, I’m done being a judgemental dude before I even listen to the new album. Regardless of the artwork, i’m excited. You can check out the artwork and the teaser after the break, but make sure you let UTG know what you think of it all. Am I being to hard on the band? Let me know.
