Chris Cornell Played “A Day In The Life” In Honor Of Paul McCartney Turning 70

Soundgarden/Audioslave’s Chris Cornell played an intimate show last night at London’s Palladium theatre and performed a classic from The Beatles. In honor of Sir Paul McCartney’s 70th birthday, the artist whipped out a fantastic acoustic rendition of The Beatles’ 1967 track “A Day In The Life” and can be seen after the jump!

NME captured a hilarious quote from Cornell onstage before he performed the song.

“It’s Paul McCartney’s birthday today. He’s 70. He was knighted. You know why he was knighted? He paid taxes…which I’m not sure is worth it. People call me sir sometimes, and I didn’t pay shit…but I love him though.”
