MOVIE TRAILER: Paul Thomas Anderson’s “The Master”

Paul Thomas Anderson is one filmmaker who does not fuck around. One look at his IMDB and you know, even if you have not seen all his films, that his name holds great weight in the film industry. When everyone started going bigger and flashier in the age of CGI, PTA kept it simple and focused on telling real stories with relatable characters and moral dilemmas that click with nearly everyone. It was risky, but I’ll be damned if it wasn’t worth it.

Later this year the world will be graced with Anderson’s genius once again as he rolls out his latest work, The Master. The film is set in America in the years following World War II. A charismatic intellectual (Hoffman) launches a faith-based organization and taps a young drifter (Phoenix) as his right-hand man. But as the faith begins to gain a fervent following, the onetime vagabond finds himself questioning the belief system he has embraced, and his mentor.
