Comedian Kevin James spent the better part of the past decade making a living as a the overweight funnyman with a heart of gold (King Of Queens, Paul Blart, and Zookeeper just to name a few), but in 2011 he started to make changes and now returns to the screen fitter than ever in this year’s Here Comes The Boom.

Plot: When his school’s budget shrinks so small all extracurricular activities may be cut, a science teacher (James) takes up cage fighting in hopes of saving the music program.

James is still playing the funny guy with a heart of gold, but it’s clear there is a new energy in his spirit. For the first time in years I am actually considering going to a theater for a Kevin James film and I don’t know whether to be relieved or ashamed.
