Slipknot’s Jim Root Missing Initial Dates Of Mayhem Festival Due To Appendix Bursting

This is incredible. Slipknot guitarist Jim Root will have to miss initial touring dates on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival due to having surgery to remove his appendix. The crazy part is that Root’s appendix burst over two weeks ago and he’s been dealing with the immense pain that comes with it for this long. What a champ!

Read a statement from the Slipknot camp below and send your well-wishes over to Jim Root through the comments section.

The band stated Root was “seriously sick for the past two weeks and went to the hospital last week where he was advised his appendix burst a couple of weeks before.”

“It could have been life-threatening. Jim is at home recovering and is awaiting surgery to have pieces of his appendix removed and hopes to join the tour as soon as he is able.”

“Slipknot will continue to headline the Mayhem festival and all other shows. We refuse to let our fans down and will not miss a single date. We will miss Jim greatly and our thoughts are with him. Jim sends his love to each and every one of our fans.”

I hope all goes well, and damn it Jim two weeks before going to the hospital?? I guess you’re just as bad as I am. I’ll miss seeing ya at the concert if you don’t recover in time, but I’d rather you take it easy then strain yourself. We don’t want to lose another brilliant mind in this world, there aren’t enough of them. I wish the best to you guys and I’ll see you guys in Houston tomorrow. I’ll be in the lawn in the pouring rain. XD
