Legendary Hip-Hop Manager Chris Lighty Dead, Apparent Suicide

Some sad news has come through today regarding Chris Lighty, long-time manager of 50 Cent, P Diddy, and Mariah Carey. This afternoon, the hip-hop mogul was found dead in his home following what appears to be suicide.

Known for his soft-spoken nature and lucrative business record, it came as a surprise to friends and acquaintances of the man to hear the news.

Lighty was instrumental in the endorsement deal between 50 Cent and Lifewater, a manager to countless stars in the hip-hop industry, and a dear friend to many.

According to The Daily News, the incident occurred after an argument with his ex-wife in his Bronx apartment. After a heated discussion with his wife (who filed for divorce last year), Lighty stepped outside a half hour shy of noon and that is when a gunshot was heard. First responders found Lighty face up on the ground with a 9-mm pistol laying at his side.

It is possible that financial woes did him in with reports saying that he owed roughly $5 million to the Internal Revenue Service.

We thank Chris for his contributions and hold his family and friends in our thoughts.
