Under The Gun’s photographer, Tori Thomas attended the Detroit date of the Nylon & Starbucks Frappuccino Summer Music Tour featuring Neon Trees, Walk The Moon, & Twenty One Pilots on August 14.
As fellow readers and followers of UTG would know, I’ve been to a few Twenty One Pilots shows. This time it was a little different, seeing they were on a bigger stage. It was a good kind of different, I could definitely tell a big stage set up works well for them. Along with a bigger set up, they covered “Shout” by The Isley Brothers, which was a great hit and such a fun way to get the crowd involved. Next up was Walk The Moon, who are also from Ohio. I’ve never listened to their music, but while they were performing, I really got into it; actually, I’ve been listening to their new self-titled album for the past week and love it. Then came time for the headliner, Neon Trees. They definitely know how to work a crowd, fans were pumped when they hit the stage. They may be a top 40 band, but damn, they put on a good show!
