Rage Against The Machine To Re-release First Album As Box Set

Twenty years ago, alternative band Rage Against the Machine made waves with their self titled debut. Now they are getting an extreme re-release of it, calling it XX, in three formats: one as a CD with three bonus tracks, one as a double CD with a DVD, and one with a box set of both along with the vinyl, a picture disc, and a forty page booklet. Chuck D of Public Enemy also wrote new linear notes. Dorks like me everywhere are excited.

In the two disc version of the CD, disc one is the CD with three bonus tracks and disc two is the original demo the band made that has long been passed around the internet in bootleg circles.

This comes fresh off the non-starter that was bassist Tim Commerford saying that maybe a new album was in the works. We’re still hoping that they release new music someday.
