Bamboozle Avoiding Asbury Park

Rock festival Bamboozle is not going to be held at Asbury Park, concert producer Live Nation has confirmed. Live Nation will continue to hold shows there, but Bamboozle failed to turn a profit in 2012 being held in Asbury. This comes as a big surprise, as last year’s festival surpassed 90,000 attendees.

Live Nation has informed us that at least for Bamboozle — because of the economics of doing it in Asbury Park and where the city is and where they are — it won’t work here,” City Manager Terence Reidy said Thursday.

Asbury Park manager Terence Reidy said “…this is not a breakup. This is Live Nation making a determination about this particular event, and that we will continue to work with Live Nation on other events in Asbury Park.

Live Nation implied the festival would be returning, but offered no suggestion as to where the festival would be held. A spokesperson said “We’re always trying to provide Bamboozle fans with the most spectacular musical experience possible. We haven’t made final plans for Bamboozle ’13, but (we) will let everyone know as soon as they’re finalized.

Our guess? Their most recent Facebook post came from near Los Angeles, California. Maybe the Bamboozle will be going out west. Let us know your guesses on Bamboozle’s future in the comments.
