The Civil Wars Cancel Tour, Cite Creative Differences

In wake of the band’s recent unexpected cancellations of several tour dates, The Civil Wars has decided to release an official personal statement regarding the cancellation of their upcoming winter tour altogether. It looks as if the band still plans to record music in 2013, but as of now, it seems as if the two-piece has quite a few things to work through seeing as how Joy Williams and John Paul White are dealing with “internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition.”

It’s worth noting that the group is currently in the process of reimbursing fans for any of the fees and related service charges and travel reservations for the cancelled concerts. For more information on that, as well as for the band’s statement that was pulled from their Facebook page, read below the jump.

We sincerely apologize for the canceling of all of our tour dates. It is something we deeply regret. However, due to internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition we are unable to continue as a touring entity at this time. We thank each and every one of you for your amazing love & support. Our sincere hope is to have new music for you in 2013.

– Joy Williams & John Paul White.
