John Frusciante quit the Red Hot Chili Peppers to fully pursue his solo career, to make music he thought was indescribable (and which turned out to be two solo albums that are pretty much synth-based hip hop. Why was that so hard to describe, John? Why?) Now, he is re-releasing some of his solo catalog on vinyl in December.
The problem with this re-issue campaign? It isn’t re-releasing any of his hard to find albums, like Niandra Lades & Usually Just a T-Shirt or Smile From The Streets You Hold. Vinyl fans are probably happy, but I’m guessing most Frusciante fans are asking what the point of re-issuing your catalog is if you don’t re-issue the things people can’t already find.
