Last year, R.E.M. released their final album Collapse Into Now. A year and a half later, the band has released their music video for the album’s closing track, “Blue”.
The video was directed by none other than Spider-Man and Pineapple Express star, James Franco. According to Pitchfork.com, James Franco signed to work with R.E.M. on two music videos as part of the Collapse Into Now Film Project. Franco was also slated to direct a music video for “That Someone Is You”, but it has since not appeared.
The video for “Blue”, however, feels like a drug-induced journey through Los Angeles, which is fitting since Lindsey Lohan stars in the video. Check out R.E.M. and James Franco’s video for “Blue” below.
