Queens of the Stone Age fans everywhere are rejoicing. First, the band announced Dave Grohl was rejoining as full time drummer, then Trent Reznor said he was collaborating on a QotSA song. Now, former bassist/vocalist Nick Oliveri is officially rejoining the band. His role is most likely reduced, and perhaps not as a full time member, but the hatchet between Josh Homme and Nick is buried.
A Facebook post said “NEWS: Nick has re-joined Kyuss, and has recently recorded his vocals on a new Queens of the Stone Age song! Stay tuned.” Personally? This confirms Queens of the Stone Age’s next record as my most anticipated album of 2013. Era Vulgaris lacked a certain firepower, and Oliveri’s screaming vocals alone have been dearly missed since Songs for the Deaf. The band is one Mark Lanegan short of its peak era lineup. I’d say don’t get your hopes up, but between Oliveri and Grohl, my hopes already are.

Interesting, considering he was kicked out of the band for beating his girlfriend.
