Code Orange Kids Robbed, Ask For Help

I was robbed once in college; I was a music major who had his primary instrument stolen. It was emotionally devastating even after I got my stuff back (yes, sometimes, the police do catch the criminal). Pittsburgh rockers Code Orange Kids recently got robbed on tour, and I can only wish them the best.

When the incident first happened, they said “We have been robbed of over 10,000 (dollars) worth of stuff in new orleans including all (of) our cash, computers and most personal belongings. Everything we made from this tour and much more. If you feel like helping you can donate to our paypal at codeorangekids@yahoo.com. if not thats cool too. we aren’t going home obviously so see you at these next few weeks of shows. [sic]

The donations are apparently helping, as today they have posted an update thanking people, saying “Really want to say thank you so much to everyone who has been positive/donated/ done anything to help us out. The response is unreal. Means the world and has blown our minds . We aren’t begging for anything and realize it isn’t anyone’s responsibility but thank you so much to all the kids and bands that are doing anything to help. We will do something cool for all of you once we figure shit out. We still have our gear so well see you on the road. Will be throwing up a shirt soon for anyone who feels like grabbing something to help.

Nonetheless, as someone who has been robbed, they have my empathy; if they’re coming near you, now’s probably a great time to buy some merch.
