We don’t always cover this kind of thing, but the weekend has been slow, so why not?

While the rest of us were busy putting the final touches on our holiday plans this weekend, two of the biggest names in pop culture were busy taking steps to spend their lives together. Earlier today, world-renowned DJ Deadmau5 tweeted to girlfriend/celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D with the message “I can’t wait for Christmas so… Katherine Von Drachenberg, will you marry me?” and the following photo:

(for those who cannot read the print, the message on the image reads “Changing the diamond to a black diamond FYI. Sorry for the jpg … they’ll finish the actual ring soon I hope. I love u.”)

Kat tweeted back, “Mi corazon [my heart]!!! Thank you all for the lovely congratulations! Please excuse me while I go squeeze the hell out of my fiance!” and we assume she followed through a short after.

Deadmau5 later tweeted, “Holy f**king s**t. Im engaged and stuff! Thanks for the well wishes and support from the horde and everyone else! Brb while i spend the rest of my evening with my future wife.”

We wish the couple the absolute best moving forward.
