It appears that we weren’t the only ones to be shocked by the charges against Lostprophets vocalist Ian Watkins. Whether the charges hold or not, it now looks like Lostprophets are now in a strange place; the band has taken down their official website, and replaced it with the following message:

“Following charges made today against Ian Watkins, we find ourselves in a state of shock. We are learning about the details of the investigation along with you. It is a difficult time for us and our families, and we want to thank our fans for their support as we seek answers.

Jamie, Lee, Luke, Mike and Stu”

It would seem that the band was unaware of any of the illegal activities. Let’s pray for their sake (and humanity’s sake) that none of the charges are true. To re-iterate, Ian was charged with attempting to rape a one year old child, and possessing “extreme” animal pornography. What sort of animal porn isn’t extreme, I have no idea; I hope to never find out, but we’ll keep you posted here at UTG as more news becomes available.
