United Nations (Glassjaw, ex-Thursday) Now Features Members Of Pianos Become The Teeth

United Nations is a side project that, to the public’s knowledge, mainly consists of Daryl Palumbo (primarily known as Glassjaw‘s front man) and Geoff Rickly (the former vocalist for Thursday). Recently, they sent a so-called “transmission” to Alternative Press to announce a show and the addition of two unspecified members of Pianos Become The Teeth.

It reads: “In January of 2009 United Nations played their first show at the Black Cat in Washington, D.C. on inauguration day to usher in a new era of change. Now four years later the band are returning to the nation’s capital to usher in a new era for our country and perform some songs they’ve secretly been perfecting during the Obama administration.

Mark your calendar because United Nations will be performing at DC9 on January 20, 2013, with Old Lines and Black Clouds. These shows will feature two of the latest additions to the UN cabinet who you may or may not recognize from Pianos Become The Teeth. Follow @TheOfficialUN as additional show information will be leaked soon leading up to the band’s return to our nation’s capital.

Personally? This tickles me pink. I love most everything Daryl’s ever done, and adding two members from one of my favorite Topshelf Records bands? We’ll keep you posted on any further updates, be it on a UN record or which two members of Pianos have been added.
