Diplo And Major Lazer Will Tour By Land And By Sea

Diplo’s swag is unimpeachable.

The vaunted producer and one man braintrust behind international party sensation Major Lazer is known for his embrace of the outsized. His rider is amazing. His list of collaborators read like a who’s who of pop music’s most exciting contemporary figures. Did you know that he used to be a teacher? There’s nothing more ratchet than education!

He’s also a noted supported of alternative mass transit – he toured Canada by train earlier with Skrillex, Grimes, Pretty Lights and others of their ilk. Who could top that? Diplo could.

The week of January 20th to January 26th is going to be a busy one for Diplo. His planner will be especially packed on the 20th, when Diplo will play four sets in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, and New York City in a nine hour span. How, you may ask? The wonderfully named Trap Hawk Down event sees the producer galavanting across the East Coast and making it between sets via helicopter.

The next day Diplo ships off for the high seas with his Mutiny Aboard The Molly Rodger tour (another winning pun!), playing stops in the West Indies in style in his Major Lazer guise.

Touring on a sailboat. And helicopter? Is this environmentally friendly? Rumors that groupies have been specially outfitted with jetpacks so they follow Diplo to all of his stops haven’t been confirmed.
