Spoof films have been part of Hollywood since the early days of cinema, so it should come as little-to-no surprise that the world of theatrical parodies is planning on taking quite a few shots at found footage in the new year. As far as big studios are concerned, A Haunted House and Scary Movie 5 will be battling for your comedic dollars at the box office, but there are a number of indie titles slowly making their way into the spotlight as well that we plan to feature here on the site. 30 Nights Of Paranormal Activity With The Devil Inside The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is one such film, and I truly hope it does not reflect the quality to come from parody cinema in 2013.

This is where most film reviews leap into some form of plot regurgitation meant to recap what you see in previews with slight expansions in hopes of further selling or detracting interested readers. I planned on following this formula myself when taking on 30 Nights Of Paranormal Activity With The Devil Inside The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, but I soon realized that would be impossible because whatever story the filmmakers had intended to follow when setting out to make this feature had apparently been left on the cutting room floor and replaced with a near endless barrage of increasingly sloppy parodies of everything from reality television, to Paula Dean and (admittedly) a few notable horror features. If you can name a person, thing, or event that made the trending list on Twitter in the last few years, it’s probably made fun of at least once in this film, and rarely with punchlines worth committing to memory.

Parody films by no means need to stay within the boundaries of a single genre, but there should be some consistency to the final product. The paper thin storyline comes and goes as it pleases, leaving the viewer at the mercy of whatever seemingly improved moment of toilet humor the actors can string together before the next throwaway sequence steals the screen. 30 Nights Of Paranormal Activity With The Devil Inside The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is not a movie as much as it is 10-20 bit part actors doing their most apathetic to perform poorly written material chock full of decade-old dick and fart jokes. Looking back now I almost feel foolish for hating on Texas Chainsaw 3D as much as we have in the last week because I now know slop like this not only exists, but that it is apparently seen as commercially viable. This film wasted my time and to write about longer would only take away from the time you could be spending reading about and watching actual films made by people looking to do more than make a quick buck.

REMEMBER: Friends don’t let friends watch 30 Nights Of Paranormal Activity With The Devil Inside The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
