BREAKING: MIKE REYNOLDS DEPARTS FROM FOR TODAY

Well the internet sure hasn’t kept quiet about this one.

After what seems to have been a decision made as a result of the criticism, name-calling, and hatred that came from Mike Reynolds’ Thursday morning rant on homosexuality, the guitarist has now left For Today to pursue what he claims to be a life in full time missions. Taking his place will be Sam Penner, a former guitarist of In The Midst Of Lions. This news came in the form of a status update on the band’s Facebook page, and was coupled with a personal apology and video statement made by the band’s vocalist, Mattie Montgomery. The apology simply doesn’t end at the video though, the frontman even goes as far as leaving his phone number out for all of those who have been hurt in any way, shape, or form from the ex-guitarist’s harsh words.

I feel that it’s safe to say that this is a decision that many of us here at UTG have been eagerly awaiting.

Follow the jump for Montgomery’s video statement and an excerpt from the status that was posted by the metalcore outfit.

Mike Reynolds is no longer a part of For Today. He has decided that now is the time for he and his wife to put their plans in motion to enroll in bible college, and to begin working toward full-time missions work in the Middle East. Mike will be replaced by long-timefriend of the band, and former In The Midst of Lions guitar player, Sam Penner, who will be appearing with the band as they headline their upcoming FIght The Silence tour.
