Kevin Devine Updates Fans On Kickstarter Success

Kevin Devine has updated his fans on the huge success of his recent Kickstarter pledge. Devine is planning to record, release and tour the next two records. His seventh album (solo with Rob Schnapf producing) and album number eight (GDB with Jesse Lacey producing). Read what he has to say below and get ready for some awesome pre-orders.

“After your mindboggling efforts yesterday, about which I am still speechless and aglow, we still have 43 days of this campaign left to run.

Essentially, what we will be doing is 1.) treating the remainder of the campaign as a pre-order of sorts, allowing people to order special packages etc. in advance of the records’ proper commercial release later this year; and 2.) applying any extra earnings to properly establishing and funding whatever the record label entity will be through which I will release my music, taking care of any & al [sic] overhead associated with navigating this painstaking process correctly and in a mutually beneficent manner, and making sure the subsequent release plan/tour cycle is rolled out at full-strength and correctly.

I’ll be trying to wrap my head around what you guys told me yesterday for quite a while, and I may subject you to a million ham-fisted efforts at thanking you until I do. For now – thanks, and stay tuned.“
