Whether you stand on the side of loving it, hating it, or simply appreciating what it attempts to do in terms of trying new things, there is no doubt VHS was one of the most popular horror titles of 2012. That said, it should come as absolute no surprise that another round of found footage short stories is already on the way to a theater near you in 2013.
Premiering at Sundance this month, S-VHS promises another scaretastic concoction from a who’s who of young horror directors. This time around, the filmmakers include Jason Eisener (Hobo With A Shotgun), Gareth Huw Evans (The Raid: Redemption) and Timo Tjahjanto (Macabre), Blair Witch Project architects Edúardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale, and Adam Wingard (the forthcoming, much-tipped You’re Next), with a wraparound segment from You’re Next writer Simon Barrett. You can view the first trailer for the film below.
No screenings of S-VHS have been announced beyond Sundance, but we have a good feeling we’ll know before the festival closes on January 27.
