Jeff Mangum (Neutral Milk Hotel) Extends Solo Tour, Will Continue Touring

When Jeff Mangum first announced his 2013 tour, it was widely thought to be his final tour ever. After all, his 2012 tour was his first real series of shows since Neutral Milk Hotel was still a band (I’m excluding festival one-offs).  A message with new tour dates has been released on his website that’s worded in such a quirky way, you have to think Jeff is behind it (although it is signed Artoria Gibbons).

It reads “dear friends,

with mouth music the meaning seems to say that there are rumors going round that that this is to be jeff’s final tour. it is not, although to be clear his solo acoustic show will not be returning to any city he has already visited anytime in the foreseeable future. as for the waterfalling woman, we deeply and humbly paralogize for any inconfusion her face of fireworks may have formed while you were falling asleep.

I hope this means that Jeff will tour again in other areas in 2014. Part of me hopes it means that a full Neutral Milk Hotel tour will come someday (after all, since when has anything been released under “nmh records” and not Merge Records?). I finished school with a music theory degree. Before I finished school, I was a janitor. You really should apologize to all the janitors you've ever had. You hurt them. Seriously. You did.

But, now that we've cleared that up and you called your high school janitor, know that I quit being a janitor to pursue writing about music. So here I am, and here you are, and hey how are you?
You can skip to the end and leave a response. Pinging is currently not allowed.
