LIVE VIDEO: John Mayer Sings Onstage For The First Time In Two Years

John Mayer - 2012

After being plagued with a granuloma in his throat, John Mayer had to make the difficult decision to stop performing onstage and go on vocal rest. After multiple surgeries, a new record, and months of vocal rest, Mayer is finally working his way back into live performance.

At a firefighter’s benefit in Montana, the singer/songwriter took a few moments to talk about his condition. He warned that his voice would not yet sound as his fans remember it. There is a chemical that was injected into his neck that helped treat the granuloma that will fade away with time. With that being said, he sang “Speak for Me,” a track off of Born and Raised, to a crowd of lucky individuals.

We’ve trolled the web for video of the night’s performances by Mayer. He had some friends help him out throughout the night. You can watch it all below.
