Bear in mind this is a dispatch from TMZ. So, grain of salt and all that, but still.
What we do know for sure: T.I.’s 10 year deal with Atlantic ran its course about a month ago. Since then, T.I. has been shopping around for a new label, as is his wont. T.I. is also demanding a lot of buck for his hip-hop bang, outlining a multi-album deal with a $75 million price tag.
What will T.I.’s new label be getting out of him for that paper? From TMZ:
– 3 albums
– 10-20 percent of publishing, touring, merchandise, film and TV rights
– Corporate endorsement deals
– Exclusive signing of all Grand Hustle artists
The rapper has been in talks with various majors, including Interscope, Sony, and apparently has a meeting with Universal coming up later in the week.
No matter where he lands or how much he’s getting on his contract, don’t doubt for a second that Tip isn’t in for a monster pay day. After over a decade in the game, he’s still a hot commodity. His last album Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head debuted at number two on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart. He’ll be looking to follow up that album with Trouble Man II: He Who Wears the Crown, which is expected to drop some time later this year.
