Indie power-poppers Surfer Blood released their debut, Astro Coast, a little over three years ago. But it feels like so much longer, doesn’t it?
Well the boys in the Brooklyn via Florida have been busy prepping their followup LP,Pythons, over the past couple months. Instead of going it alone, they’re working with some heavy hitters this time around. Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World) produced the whole shebang while Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Kevin Devine, Saves The Day) helmed the mixing boards.
See if you can hear the influence of Surfer Blood’s famous collaborators on the first single from Pythons, “Weird Shapes”, which you can stream after the jump.
