The sun-drenched indie pop duo Best Coast has announced that they will be recording and releasing an EP some time in early 2013.
The group, comprised of singer-songwriter Bethany Cosentino and guitarist Bobb Bruno, took to the YouTubes to spread the good word. The band will be heading into the studio on February 11 to crank out the new tunes. And… that’s about all we know right now. In a “nerdy” video titled “Best Coast announces new EP”, Cosentino gives up the scantest of details about her band’s new EP. But she looks fashionable while she’s doing it, if nothing else.
“I’ve been writing a lot here in my bedroom,” says Consentino. “I’ll be posting lots of Instagram photos, and Twitter, and keeping you guys up to date with what’s going on in the studio, so get excited for that,” she continues. “And hopefully we’ll have this EP out to you super soon.”
Good to hear. Bethany and Bobb crank out some rad tunes that are made for the beach. I, for one, could use a cure for my winter blues, and this might do the trick. The yet to be titled EP will be the followup to Best Coast’s 2012’s full length The Only Place.
