STREAM: Fall Out Boy – “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Original Demo)

If you’ve been on the internet today, you know very well that Fall Out Boy is back. With official confirmation from the band, Fall Out Boy has announced a slew of great news, including a new song, “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up).”  This new song has a lot more synths than previous works, but it definitely has that same Fall Out Boy charm.

But guess what? This song isn’t exactly new. Today we have for you the original demo of the song, and it’s A LOT different than the version that was just released. While the origins aren’t exactly clear, the demo surfaced around 2009, and is supposedly a song that didn’t make the cut on From Under the Cork Tree. If you were looking for a track that sounded more like their older material, you should definitely check this out.

Click through the break to hear the original demo, as well as the newest version. Tell us which one you prefer in the comments!

The demo is a sound straight off of “Infinity on High”, and damn do I love it.

i like both for different reasons. I love the old FOB feel in the demo, but the new version is great to jam to and perfect for the radio. Either way, I’m pumped they’re back!

Straight off Infinity? More like straight off Take This to Your Grave… Not saying I don’t love it, but this sounds older than their Infinity material.
