MUSIC VIDEO: Passion Pit – “Carried Away”

Passion Pit

Boston indie poppers Passion Pit have just put out a music video for “Carried Away”, the most recent single from their 2012 effort Gossamer.

Staying true to the meaning of the album’s title, “Carried Away” is a bright, slick wash of electro-pop, replete with bubblegum synths and cooing female backing vocals. The music video, directed by the Brewer brothers, is a love letter to the works of movie maker Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep).

Emotional discombobulation and relationshit is set against surreal physicality (scooping people up in solo cups, for example) and weird plot twists as lead singer Michael Angelakos just tries to work things out with the girl he loves. Suffice it to say, it works.

Check out the clip for “Carried Away” after the jump.
