Producer Madeon To Be The First Dance Music Artist To Play… The New York Stock Exchange?

Here’s a head-scratcher to stew in your brainpan for the weekend.

DJ/producer Madeon has experienced more success at the age of 18 (maybe 19? But he looks way younger?!) than most artists have over the course of their whole lives. He’s gone viral. He’s toured with Lady Gaga. He’s a titan, a young god, in his chosen field. So naturally, like any other self-made individual, he’ll find himself at home on Wall Street.

Dancing Astronaut is reporting that Madeon will be the first dance music artist to play at the New York Stock Exchange. No, that isn’t a Manhattan-based club who decided to name their space with a winking reference to the finance industry. It’s the actual New York Stock Exchange.

Madeon will be mixing with the big wigs and big wigs to be at The Kairos 50, a summit, “representing an annual list of the 50 most innovative student-run businesses in the world.” Madeon’s performance will go down on Saturday, February 23, right on the floor of the NYSE. Does this mean that he’s going to get to ring that little bell at the end of the day? Or are they going to play a series of WUBs and drops to close out trading in his honor?

Check out Madeon’s most recent release, “The City”, below.
