We dug the recent split EP from indie/emo stalwarts Braid and indie/emo young guns Balance and Composure. What was it called? Uh, they uh, titled it… Split.
Hey, give the guys a break. They had to utilize their creative energies towards composing their tunes. And even if you haven’t picked up the album either as a digital download, or one of its two colored vinyl iterations, you can at least hear Balance and Composure’s contributions to the 7″, “You Can’t Fix Me” and “Say”. “You Can’t Fix Me” is the slow burner of the two, reveling in riffage and guitar fuzz. “Say”, on the other hand, is a mix of cymbal crashes, hurtling emotions, and crescendos.
