Man, those helmets look fresh to death.
Daft Punk’s website has been pretty static up until recently. Before yesterday, a visitor to daftpunk.com would be greeted with the image seen here… and nothing else. That all changed today, when the logo seen here appeared on their home page.
Again, it’s not a splash page and it doesn’t link to anything. But the artwork is quality enough to merit a moment of your gawking.
Oh, but what’s this? Is that Columbia’s logo in the lower right quadrant?
Indeed, the new image on Daft Punk’s webpage all but confirms the rumors from a few weeks back that the band had jumped ship from EMI for Columbia Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.
If this isn’t a sign that the bleepy-bloopy Parisian duo will be putting out a new album some time later this year (their producer Nile Rodgers certainly thinks so), then I don’t know what it is.
