Dave Chappelle And Chris Rock Hint At Touring Together

Don’t get the wrong idea: there’s nothing set in stone. That said, this is the second time the two comedians have hinted at doing a major tour together.

In an interview with Vulture last month, Chris Rock said “You know I’m not the hard one. But I’m trying to make that happen. After seeing Kanye and Jay-Z, I was like, ‘Me and Dave [Chappelle] should do this.’

The two performed a set together last night at New York City’s The Comedy Cellar, where they referenced a possible tour again. The Comic’s Comic has the only known transcript of the joking discussion, which goes as follows:

Dave Chappelle: “Come out to Oakland.

Chris Rock: “You should come down to West Palm.

Chappelle: “After next Tuesday, I’m free for like 11 years.

Does this mean a tour is officially on? No. Does it even make it likely? Maybe not. It does, however, appear that Dave has at least heard Chris’ efforts to get them to tour together, and even if it doesn’t happen… well, at least Dave can joke about it. But seriously, they should tour together. It would probably be the biggest standup tour thus far in the millennium – correct me if I’m wrong in the comments, but either of them as a stand alone does amazing and something like them together is nearly unprecedented in comedy. Keep your fingers crossed; if anything official comes up, we’ll be the first to let you know.
