Drummer Leaves Lion I Am

The San Diego based hardcore group known as Lion I Am have lost one of their members today. Their drummer, Derek, has announced that he will be parting ways with the band. He indicated that his heart isn’t in it any longer. You can read a full statement made by Derek by taking a look below the jump.

The band has not made any statements yet or indicated if/when they will replace Derek, but be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more updates from the band in the near future.

As much as it bums me out to say this, I am no longer the drummer of Lion I Am. I think it is very important to mention that I have nothing but love for those dudes, they really are my brothers and we have been through so much together. I can guarantee that they will continue on without me and do big things in the near future. All I can say is that my heart just isn’t in it anymore. Its time to move on and push forward, time to figure out what I really want out of life. My last San Diego show will be at Soma March 13th with letlive. Come hang out and let me give you a hug ♥
