UTG PHOTOS: TAKE ACTION TOUR (2/10/13)

Under The Gun presents a set of phenomenal photos by one of our brand new photographers, Corbin Alvae. We sent Corbin to the Take Action Tour on February 10, 2013 in Detroit. Check out his review and photos below!

February is the month where we show our signi?cant other how much we love them (which should really be all the time, not just on a speci?c date). When I found out that the Take Action Tour was making it’s stop at The Fillmore in Detroit, I immediately told myself  that I needed to cover this tour since it was featuring one of the top Alternative Rock bands around, The Used. The tour also featured We Came As Romans, Crown The Empire, and Mind?ow. Featuring an amazing line-up, this tour de?nitely packed a punch and the crowd proved that Michigan knows how to have a great time at a rock show.

MINDFLOW

This was the ?rst time I have ever seen or heard of this band. Hailing from Sao Paulo, Brazil, this group of four very talented guys brought a solid performance to kick off the show on the right note.

CROWN THE EMPIRE

This was my very ?rst time seeing Crown The Empire live. When they took the stage, I instantly had the feeling that they were going to tear the stage up. I was right! The band impressed me with how interactive they were with the audience and how much energy they brought onstage. All in all, it made to a nice, solid performance.

WE CAME AS ROMANS

Well…what can I say? Michigan’s own We Came As Romans did what they do best: melt faces and put on an energy-?lled, guitar ?ipping, entertaining performance. The interaction with their hometown fans was on point and the overall set they performed practically destroyed the venue. The fans got a quick glimpse of a few new tracks added into the set as well, including “Hope”, which they just released a music video for on January 31st.

THE USED

The Used brought forth one of the best, memorable performances that night. The production aspect of their set up was phenomenal! The blinding strobes combined with the bright ?ood lights and intermixed with colored lights made their performance that much more entertaining. Lead singer Bert McCracken kept the crowd wide awake and the interaction between band and audience was perfect. When the crowd was singing during the track “The Taste Of Ink”, it sent straight chills up my spine. Hearing the entire venue sing with the band was an amazing thing to witness and be a part of. Once their performance had ended, the band took the stage again for an encore, during which they performed “A Box Full Of Sharp Objects.” But this encore was different and unexpectedly brilliant; Bert introduced fellow Michigander Ryan Logan to come onstage and do a duet with the band. Overall, the Take Action Tour stop in Detroit was solid. Amazing line-up, great production, and energy-?lled to the max. Enjoy the rest of the photos below!
