James Blake Releases New Video And Could Be Collaborating With Kendrick Lamar

James Blake

A few weeks ago, English musician James Blake released the track “Voyeur” from his upcoming album, Overgrown. Today, a visual video for the track has surfaced courtesy of 1-800-Dinosaur Music.

Upon pressing play, you may expect a typical video of a vinyl spinning on a turntable with a backing track, but it’s only about a minute in when the video takes you into a different dimension. The visual colors and shapes capture the same emotion James Blake conveys within the track itself.

In an interview with the UK site Juno Plus, 1-800-Dinosaur owner and James Blake’s manager Dan Foat, states that there could be a possible collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on the horizon.

“We met Kendrick Lamar and his manager Dave at SXSW and hung out and discussed a potential collaboration with James. If that was to come off then it would be great to release it via 1-800-Dinosaur and their label Top Dawg Entertainment in the States.”

Blake is no stranger to the hip-hop game. In fact, the RZA is featured on the track, “Take a Fall For Me” on Blakes’ upcoming album.

There’s been a lot of hype surrounding his next release, and for good reason. His previous album received rave reviews, and displayed an indie version of classic dubstep the public wasn’t accustom to hearing. While we’ve only heard two full tracks from Overgrown so far, clips from the album can be streamed via iTunes.

James Blake’s video for “Voyeur” can be viewed below.

The new album, Overgrown is due out on Polydor and Universal Republic Records on April  9.
