Said The Whale’s Little Mountain topped my best of 2012 list this past year and with that album having been released just a year ago, the band is already set to drop their next effort, I Love You EP, which is set to release on June 18 via Hidden Pony Records.
The Vancouver, BC natives have just released a lyric video for their first single from the EP, title track, “I Love You.” This track is a slight departure from the majority of Said The Whale’s endearing catalog but still has signature STW vibes, with a quick, punchy delivery reminiscent of The Knack and an infectious chorus that is already stuck in my head. While it’s certainly not their best work to date, it has us interested in what’s to come.
