Lauryn Hill Sentencing Pushed Back, Signs $1 Million Record Deal With Sony

It is no secret that Fugees alumni Lauryn Hill has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons this year.

She evaded paying taxes from 2005 to 2007 and is looking to spend time in jail for failing to pay an astounding $968,000. TMZ has reported that Hill’s sentencing date has been pushed back until May 6.

On a more positive note, Lauryn Hill has signed a $1 million record deal with Sony and is planning to take out a $650,000 loan to help pay for the tax debts. Hopefully this will be the turn around the hip-hop icon needs to clear up the mess she has created for herself. UTG will keep you posted with news of the sentencing in the weeks to come.
