B.o.B Debuts “Headband”; Releases Lyric Video

Atlanta’s B.o.B is one of the few artists to successfully make a name in pop and hip hop that isn’t dependent on the other genre to be considered a success. If he wants to write a pop song, he does. If he wants to release a street banger, he does. B.o.B never thinks twice when inspiration strikes and that has given him a lot of success, but I’d be lying if I said his latest was on par with his previous efforts.

Featuring 2 Chainz, “Headband” is a song that seems meant for strip clubs, females needing to be sexualized in order to work out, and people who wish The Ying Yang Twins released a “Whisper Song” part 2. The beat is overly simplistic, with a whistle sample and handclaps leading the way while both artists go in about life and women. Neither the beat nor the verses offer many memorable moments, but maybe there are some out there who will appreciate what the emcees have created.

In order to hear “Headband” you will need to watch the track’s official lyric video, which coincidentally appeared online this morning as well. You can view the clip after the jump, but please know the video features A LOT of sweaty ladies dancing in thongs, and I don’t mean in a tasteful way.

We’re still unsure where “Headband” will end up, but I hope the rest of the songs released with it are better than the brightest moment of this track. If not, it’s going to be a long Summer for Bobby Ray.
