EXCLUSIVE: Austin Carlile Found Guilty Of Misdemeanor Assault

A month after being arrested for a late night brawl in Ohio, Of Mice And Men frontman Austin Carlile was in court this morning to learn what would come of the felonious assault charges facing him.

Carlile appeared at the Bowling Green Municipal Courthouse this morning at 9:30 AM to begin proceedings. We were unable to have a reporter on site, but a phone call with the courthouse has informed us the hearing was relatively short. Carlile’s original charge of felonious assault was lowered by the judge to a misdemeanor offense, and moments later Carlile was found guilty.

As a result of the ruling, Carlile was asked to pay a $1000 fine and all court expenses. $800 of that charge suspended, however, so Carlile left the court room owing $335, which we were told was paid in full before he left.

Carlile has yet to directly comment on the situation. That said, shortly after the proceedings let out, Carlile did tweet the Bill Keane quote, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”

Of Mice And Men are currently on tour with A Day To Remember and have about a week left before the run comes to a close. Click here for details.

  3. Chris Jones says:

Yeah might want to do that cause people might start shit and go to his address and shit

  4. The address is actually his laywer’s office, so we didn’t deem it necessary to cross it out. Thank you for your concern, we wouldn’t want to do that either.

  5. Check one of the above posts, it’s not his actual address, but his lawyer’s. Thank you for voicing your concern though!

  6. John Howe says:

Fair enough! Thanks for pointing that out :)

  7. Thanks for checking out the site. We understand your concern, but it is actually his lawyer’s address.

  8. Monsterinside says:

I believe you should put a disclaimer or else people just keep posting the same message over and over again.

  15. Do people seriously think that they’d post his address all over the internet? It has been said several times that it is his lawyer’s office address. People seriously need to learn how to read before they go getting all pissy. You posted his address, that’s not cool…take it down… Ugh… IT IS NOT HIS ADDRESS! Learn how to read. Seriously. They’re not stupid enough to post his address all over the internet. Okay, i’m done. :)

  16. …Anyone who considers themselves a “fan” would know he resides in California or Ohio. Duurrr.

  17. Kris Jenner's Refrigerator says:

Can’t believe he got out of there with only a fine! Where I live, you’d be lucky to get probation!

  21. This is complete bullshit. Austin was defending a fan that died of cancer..while I thank the grace of the judge and jury by cutting the severity of the charge and the fine, I still find this supremely outrageous…
