There has been talk of new material from Kanye West for months, but as of this morning it seems all but confirmed that a new album is on the way (much) sooner than later.

New York City radio personality Peter Rosenberg sits at the center of this story, as it is his on-air discussion of West’s latest efforts that sent bloggers into a fury earlier today. According to Rosenberg, West is not only planning a new album, he’s already recorded it. In fact, Rosenberg claims he has heard the record and that it is “dark.” You can listen to an excerpt from his radio show below.

West has reportedly been recording in Paris in recent weeks, and there are rumors of collaborations with everyone from Daft Punk to Chief Keef. West and his label (Def Jam) have yet to confirm the existence of the album or that any listening events have taken place, but Rosenberg has never been one to steer listeners wrong. We’re waiting for updates and will post more as new information becomes available.
