Kanye West famously deleted all of his tweets at the beginning of October 2012, but everyone assumed it was just another crazy Kanye moment that would soon be replaced by yet another over-the-top publicity move. Generally this would be the case and we would have moved on, but the soon to be father and man behind G.O.O.D. Music kept his word and remained silent. Until Now.
Just after 9 A.M. (EST) today, May 2, Kanye West posted a single tweet on his account that simply reads “June Eighteen.” Kanye did not post a follow-up and, of course, offered no further insight into what the date might mean.
If I had to guess, and considering the lack of additional details we might as well, I would say June Eighteen would be the day Kanye plans to release his new single. Earlier this week New York Radio DJ claimed West had an album that was completed and that Def Jam had begun previewing it for industry contacts. No one confirmed or denied the report, but given this new development it is clear something is on the way.
Do you think this is the firing pistol for the return of Kanye West to the music world? Comment below and let us know your thoughts. UTG is continuing to follow this story and will post updates as more information becomes available.
