The release of Andrew McMahon’s solo EP, The Pop Underground, has been welcomed with open arms into our music community, and this morning the record’s b-side cover has found its way online for the world to enjoy.
“Sister Golden Hair” was originally made famous in 1975 when it became the second song from America to top the pop charts. It only sat atop Billboard for a single week, but in the decades since its debut “Sister Golden Hair” has gone on to become one of the must-love folk pop classics. McMahon’s rendition is fitting of his style, but it harkens back to the original in a modern way that is both respectful and unique. You can stream the cover below.
The Pop Underground is available digitally now at a number of retailers. Click here to purchase a copy you can call your own.
