Brooklyn-based chiptune band, Anamanaguchi, started a Kickstarter on May 3 to assist in the release of their upcoming album, Endless Fantasy. After eleven hours, the band surpassed their $50,000 goal and it’s still climbing.
The band decided to release the album on their own label, dream.hax, and asked fans to donate to their Kickstarter to “make Endless Fantasy more than just an album”. Amidst the refreshing, asterisk-decorated explanation for their Kickstarter, the band appeals to fans by promising special VIP spots for their upcoming tour, “school of chiptune” lessons with the band, and their newest album in various forms. For the unclaimed top pledge reward (of $10,000), the band promises to deliver their van to the house of the pledger, play a show, and let them keep it post-tour in September.
Anamanaguchi is most famously known for the Scott Pilgrim Vs the World: The Game soundtrack and also the opening music for podcasts like Nerdist and Indoor Kids. Their Kickstarter is currently rising above $85,000 and is open for another 26 days.
