Cedric Bixler Zavala, former front man to both At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta, claimed when he first announced TMV broke up that he was working on a solo record. His original statements on Twitter said “Lots of desert ballad space jams, lots of harmonies, lots of lap steel and piano. Lots of AM radio love songs. Short bitter sweet love songs. Be warned I’m not making a rock record. It might lightly rock but not like I’m known for.”
Today, maybe that’s starting to change… or maybe he’s just assembled a band to do short bitter sweet love songs.
So this solo thing I was working on went from a solo record to turning into a band. I’ll announce the name and other news soon.
