The Ready Set are one of the most adored young pop rock acts on the market today. Their high-gloss, generally family friendly tunes about love and partying have infected tweens, teens, and a sizable amount of twenty-somethings with hooks that they simply cannot get out of their heads. Last year, the group found their greatest single song success with “Give Me Your Hand (The Best Song Ever),” and this year they sorta hope to do it again.

We have seen remix videos in the past, but rarely are they shot a DJ remix, let alone released a year after the original. However, that is exactly the case with this post. The video for “Give Me Your Hand (Best Song Ever)” [Ghengis Cuts Remix] premiered on Idolator this morning and is in fact as bright and colorful as you can probably imagine. It’s a solid remix and the updated visuals are nice, but when you think about it, doesn’t it seem strange that TRS have waited this long to drop this clip? It’s a Summer song, no doubt, but it was last Summer’s song. Is a remix to a year-old track really the best way to head into the Summer tour season?
