FIRST LOOK: Alfonso Cuarón’s ‘Gravity’

Alfonso Cuarón wowed us all with his 2006 film adaptation of Children of Men, a dystopian science fiction story written by P. D. James in 1992.

Since then, however, Cuarón gave up his director’s chair for production credits on films such as Pan’s Labyrinth, only to sit back down again for 2013’s next Sci-Fi epic, Gravity.

Gravity positions Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, who portray astronauts on a shuttle mission. Clooney as Captain and Bullock as a first-time medical engineer. On a space-walk outside of the shuttle, an explosion destroys the craft, and with it, all ties to Earth. Thus leaving the two completely stranded in the vast expanse of space with oxygen in low supply.
