Deftones Planning To Release Never-Before-Heard ‘Eros’ Album

deftones koi no yokan

The passing of Deftones original bassist Chi Cheng is still being processed by the music world, and now it seems we will have a chance to hear more of his work.

In the days before Chi Cheng was involved in the automobile accident that started his health’s downward spiral, Deftones were in the studio working on an album titled Eros. When the accident happened, Deftones put the album on hold, and even when they realized they would have to move forward without Cheng in the band, refused to return to the recordings. The group was determined to finish the record with Cheng, but sadly that will never happen. We figured the album was lost to history, but now it seems that may not be the case.

While on the red carpet for the Revolver Golden Gods Awards, Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno told Artisan News he believes Eros will still see the light of day. He goes on to say that he recently revisited the recordings and appears truly passionate about releasing them to fans. You can view the interview below.

No word yet on when Eros may see the light of day, but we’ll let you know as soon as more information becomes available.
