Details About Cedric Bixler’s New Band, Zavalaz, Surface

Cedric Bixler, former vocalist for both At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta, told the world his solo project turned into a full band, and that details would soon surface. Those details have come: the band is named Zavalaz, the last word in Cedric’s complete name with an added z, and features some familiar faces and some new ones. Former TMV bassist Juan Alderete will be playing bass, with Dan Elkin on guitar and vocals, and Greg Rogove of Megapuss on drums and vocals.

The band will be heading out on a west coast tour with Dot Hacker, a band that started as an all star lineup of studio musicians, but may now be best known the main creative outlet for Red Hot Chili Pepper guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.

Details on a recording or an album release are unknown as of yet. The tour dates can be seen here after the jump.
